Scraping down to sound wood before primer
Paint fails where the surface underneath was never ready for it. Most of our hours on a job go into the part you will never see, so the part you do see lasts.
We look at every side of the house, note the problem areas and hand you a price in writing, with what is and is not included.
Plants, walkways and floors get covered. Loose paint is scraped, rough edges sanded, bare wood spot primed and open seams caulked.
Even coverage with clean cut lines on trim, sash and doors, applied when the weather and the surface are right for it.
We walk the job together, touch up anything you point out and leave the property cleaner than we found it.
These are WJN jobs, photographed on site before we started and after we packed up.

Every bare spot primed before color went on. Finished in soft gray with white rails and an orange front door.
Barns take more ladder work, more scraping and more patience than a house. That is exactly why a lot of painters pass on them, and why we take them on.

We work in Nashua and the towns around it in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Not sure if you are in range? Call and ask, we will tell you straight.
It depends on the size of the house, how many stories, the condition of the siding and trim, and how much scraping and priming it needs. We do not price by phone because prep is most of the job. We walk the house for free and give you a written number.
Usually late spring through mid fall. Paint needs dry surfaces and temperatures that stay above the label minimum through the night, so we schedule around the weather and will move a day rather than paint on wet or cold siding.
We scrape loose paint, sand rough edges, spot prime bare wood and caulk open seams before any finish coat. Painting over failing paint is why a lot of exteriors start peeling again after two winters.
Yes. Barns, carriage houses, detached garages and sheds are a regular part of our work, including tall gables and weathered wood that needs heavy prep.
